Trailer: The Lone Ranger
Yesterday, the poster. Today, the trailer. And I'm pretty sure this is the one we saw in Hall H this year at Comic Con. Again, it's obvious that Tonto is the star here and we're gonna get all kinds of Kimosabe buddy-buddy humor as Depp trains the white boy in the ethics of vigilanteism.

The Lone Tonto Poster
I dig this poster, even if it firmly establishes Johnny Depp's Tonto as the hero of this supposedly revisionist Western. But unlike the Parker situation, my deep seeded desire for a Western genre resurgence allows for a little more wiggle room. Plus, outside of a few Joe Lansdale comics, The Lone Ranger has never really quite worked for me. At the very least, I won't condemn this outing until I see that Comic Con trailer one more time. I remember thinking it looked pretty badass, but my nerdvana memories are fading a bit. The below stills definitely have my curiosity, and the Monument Valley shot even gives me a couple goosebumps.
