Similar to Scott C's work, I've been a big fan of Julian Birchman's Sitting Too Close. He has a knack for picking the key images of movie magic. Titan Books needs to showcase this guys art asap. But what I particularly appreciate about his latest paintings of Django Unchained are the two scenes he selected. Django's Last Ride & The Whipping of the Brittle Brothers are my two absolute favorite moments from the film. I don't have the artistic talent to go all fanboy whimsy on the film, but I'm so glad Julian & I share the same brain so that I may bask in this Dork Art beauty.
