Dork Art: Mondo Man of Steel!
Here's some good news for Mondo fanatics! Tired of loosing out just seconds after the online sale? Well, at least for the above Martin Ansin print, Mondo will give you three days to score this seriously bitching Man of Steel print. Similar to their Dark Knight Rises Olly Moss poster, from 12:01 AM on Friday through 12:01 AM on Monday, the print run will be as large as the demand. Measuring 24 x 36 and costing $50. There will be a variant print lasered into sheet metal that will set you back $300, but don't worry, you don't have a chance in hell of acquiring it anyway. There is also a nifty Ken Taylor print going on sale this Friday. Limited to 300 copies, the regular edition is also $50 while the 150 variant costs $75. I dig the Taylor, but I'm seriously in love with the Ansin. It will be mine. Nice to know that I can actually make it happen.

Dork Art: Mondo's Universal Monsters
Mondo's got another amazing gallery show ready to hit Austin. Starting October 19th, the lucky locals will be able to see great works of art from Drew Struzan, Rick Baker, JC Richard, Rich Kelly, Kevin Tong, etc and all devoted to the Universal Monsters. Hope you've saved your pennies folks. The above prints from Ken Taylor, Francesco Francavilla, and Laurent Durieux are just a taste. Can't wait to see what the heavy hitters have in store.

Dork Art: Mondo Halloween
Ooooooooo, now these are pretty. Ken Taylor & Mondo Tees have partnered up for these poster prints celebrating the October 16th & 27th screenings of John Carpenter's Halloween at the New Beverly Cinema. It's all part of a Debra Hill retrospective being put on by the Producer's Guild of America. Sigh. I love the AFI Silver and all, but I really wish we got big marathon events like this.

Dork Art: Rowdy's They Live
Here's an awesome photo posted on Mondo's Facebook page just minutes ago. Rowdy Roddy Piper presenting Krzsztof Domaradzki's poster of They Live at the Texas Frightmare Weekend. Pretty dang cool. Love me some Hot Rod and love me some John Carpenter satire.

Dork Art: More Mondo Avengers
24 x 36 Phantom City Creative
24 x 36 Ken Taylor
24 x 36 Kevin Tong
24 x 36 Variant
More Avengers prints from the good folks over at Mondo. But I gotta say, I'm kinda underwhelmed with what we've been seeing from them in regards to Marvel's monster team up spectacular. Their pretty and all, but they're not as stunning as say the previous Planet of the Apes wave or their Star Wars and Star Trek licenses. I'm still betting on a Tyler Stout main Avengers print and I've got my fingers crossed for a special Nick Fury poster. And there's still no sight of a Thor print.

Tomorrow, Mondo unleashes their latest Disney print and it's actually something I give a damn about. Ken Taylor's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea measures 24 x 36 and will set you back $50 if yer lucky enough to click on their site at the right second.

Dork Art: Mondo Drive
Tonight Mondo had a screening of Drive to celebrate the DVD/Blu Ray release. Those in attendance were rewarded with this absolutely gorgeous Ken Taylor print. Now word yet if and when this poster is going on sale but I want, want, want.
