"What's The Worst That Could Happen?" - Child's Play Gets A Reboot With The Curse of Chucky!
I remember hearing about this on the grapevine a few years ago, but the Child's Play remake is finally upon us....or at least the Direct-To-DVD market. The Child's Play films have never been the greatest batch of slashers, but Brad Dourif always brings a lot of sick charm to the demon doll and the last couple of flicks (Bride of Chucky & Seed of Chucky) are true treats for the disturbed. The trailer below promises nothing special (did you know that Dourif has an acting daughter, Fiona? Me neither, but that's cool), but I'm gonna turn up for the voice.

"He Won't Stop!" - Nic Cage Hunts John Cussack With Stripper Vanessa Hudgins
Almost a year ago we posted the original trailer for Frozen Ground, the tale of Nicolas Cage's Alaskan manhunt for John Cussack's average joe serial killer. The film looks like a big piece of direct-to-dvd crap. Trespass, Seeking Justice, Stolen. The man is cranking out the forgetable bland movies. Where are the Drive Angrys, Bad Lieutenants, or even Season of the Witches? Come on Cage, we need your mega acting more now than ever. According to IMDB, David Gordon Green has tapped a bearded Cage for his own return to serious filmmaking. I have hopes for that at least. This Vanessa Hudgins stripper flick is destined to rot in the Wal-Mart five dollar bin.

Trailer: Stolen
Trespass. Seeking Justice. Stolen. Nic Cage has been suffering on the Direct-To-DVD market lately, and his super fans (like myself) have been suffering right there along side him. I freaking loved last year's Drive Angry, and even found ways to enjoy Season of the Witch. But Ghost Rider 2? Even with Neveldine & Taylor, the thrill just wasn't there. And Stolen looks to be on par with the mediocrity of Trespass & Seeking Justice. Seriously, what's with the trailer narration? That voice isn't even trying. And as much as I love Cage & director Simon West's Con Air, this looks like a (really, really, really) poor man's Taken. Stolen will play theatrically for just one day, September 14, and will quickly be forgotten on the home video front.
Still, it's got a great B-movie cast in Josh Lucas (he's trying to out Cage Cage here), Danny Huston, Malin Akkerman, and MC Gainey. And I'll probably buy the blu like I did Tresspass, Seeking Justice, and every other freaking Cage movie that's ever existed. Either I'm a masochist or just a really hopeful film fan.
