Cap Jumps Into Battle!

We've got two days till the Teaser Trailer hits the web, but I'm already jazzed thanks to this killer comic book poster.  Sure, it should be illustration, but that's a bitch-rant I'm tired of spewing.  I just love the image of Cap preparing to jump into battle in our Nation's Capital.  Anthony Russo & Joe Russo are still questionable commodities, but I loved what little I saw at this year's Comic Con.  Hopefully the teaser footage will feature the Elevator brawl we got to see there - Chris Evans kicking Frank Grillo's ass.  I like the first film quite a bit despite it's rushjob climax, but hopefully we can get some satisfying World War II closure in the sequel.

Teaser Poster: Captain America - The Winter Soldier

A week out from Comic Con and Marvel has unveiled their first teaser poster for Captain America 2 - The Winter Soldier.  Simple.  Obvious.  Not bad.  Obviously this film is promising some serious punishment for Super Soldier Steve Rogers, but I think I also see a little bit of The Winter Soldier's robo arm pattern in the middle of the star.  That's a nice touch.  The April 4th release date seems weird, not the real deal confidence of a Summer Movie slot, but the blockbuster season begins earlier and earlier these days.  Still, my main concern with this movie are the brothers Anthony & Joe Russo.  They have yet to prove themselves as directors and I refuse to believe any early buzz that this is the best Marvel Studios movie yet.  I'm waiting for Hall H, another room full of lies, before I do or do not get excited.

Thespianic Cement! Clark Gregg's Avengers

I've been a fan of Clark Gregg for a while.  From his roles in David Mamet's State & Main and Spartan to his ex in The New Adventures of Old Christine.  And yeah, he directed CHOKE which is an amazingly sleazy bit of cinema starring Sam Rockwell!  So when I saw him pop up in 2008's Iron Man I was as pleased as punch.  The fact that he would turn into the SHIELD through line to The Avengers was ridiculously entertaining.  Now, listen to him list his Top Five moments of the most badass mother bleeping movie you've ever seen.
